i’ve seen

way

too much of this

to count as a normal adult

tears

Meanwhile I’m like “God, I need to watch more anime”.

Also, I think I want to re-watch Outlaw Star for the first time since the 90s just so I can hear “Through The Night” once every 30 minutes. Fuggin’ love that song.

So pleased that Genshiken is even on here. I’d like to also add ‘Shin Sekai Yori’, maybe in the underviewed/ above average category

I’ve seen almost all of this. Whether or not thats a good thing is arguable.

Platina Jazz presents Sailor Moon - A Moonlight Serenade

Holy shit.

I cannot handle how amazing this is. It’s spectacular. It’s everything you could ever hope it could be.

I don’t really want to detract from how amazing this production is on its own, but the man’s obvious physical allusions to Tuxedo Mask and my earlier feelings that the song ‘Moonlight Densetsu’ doesn’t really fit the theme of Sailor Moon come together in something I’ve been thinking for a while now, which is that Moonlight Densetsu is really better-suited as a song by/about Mamoru and not Usagi or any of the other girls. It seems more closely linked to his own indecision about his relationship and where he stands.

But, that aside, just watch this phenomenal piece of music theater, good grief it is good.

How Memes Became the Best Weapon Against Chinese Internet Censorship

China’s censors are blocking words like “today” and “June 4” from social media as part of the country’s yearly chore to block any reference to the anniversary to the Tiananmen Square massacre 24 years ago. And though the Chinese are running a sophisticated and tight censorship ship, they’re having a bit harder time blocking memes. Yes memes.

The Killers - For Reasons Unknown

"The most important things are the hardest things to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them - words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they’re brought out. But it’s more than that, isn’t it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you’ve said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That’s the worst I think. when the secret stays locked within, not for want of a teller but for an ear."
